She was predeceased by her cherished husband Charles, father John Pepper, mother Anna and her brother-in-law Gordon McEwan.
Mom was born and spent her formative years in the Elmwood area where she attended Lord Selkirk School. She took pride in raising her children and then returned to Red River Community College where she achieved her Licensed Practical Nursing. She started her career as a nurse in the Chemical Withdrawal Unit at the Health Sciences Centre and continued her nursing career at Donwood Personal Care Home as her passion was caring for the elderly. She made a lasting impression with her patients and co-workers with her sense of humour and charm. She retired in 1998.
Mom enjoyed retirement life spending time with her love of her life, Charlie. They enjoyed numerous trips to Palm Springs and summers with family at the cottage at White Lake. She also enjoyed bus trips to the states with her sister Joyce. Trips to Fargo with Beaver Bus lines, where she made many friends. She was an avid bowler, shopper, loved fishing and also enjoyed watching and cheering her grandchildren at their many sporting events. Her loving dedication to her family knew no bounds. She lived her life with generosity, kindness and integrity. Mom’s legacy will live on through her children and grandchildren. She is our inspiration and will always live on in our hearts.
Family members would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the Concordia Hospital Nursing staff for caring for our mother and to the many visitors for their support and compassion.
