Wayne passed away peacefully, surrounded by family at the Victoria Hospital on Wednesday, February 12, 2014, after a brief but brave battle with cancer.
Wayne will be lovingly remembered by his wife Judy Lynne, his children Colleen (Harry) and Wink, step-children Brad (Jane), Laurie (Mark) and Jeff Ostash, grandchildren Cara, Eric, Kelly, Dan and Alex, great-grandson Ryder, nephews Stephane and Barnette, along with many cousins, extended family and friends.
Wayne was predeceased by his mother Ruth, father John, and brothers Keith and Kent.
Wayne was employed for many years by Underwood and Olivetti Canada until he started his own partnership business Century Business Machines. He retired in 2012. Wayne enjoyed his cottage at Grand Beach for many summers, was an avid reader and sports fan, loved our big family dinners and daily coffee outings with his cousin Grant and friends. A gifted handyman, Wayne was selfless in lending his skills to family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, February 20 at Thomson “In the Park”, 1291 McGillivray Blvd.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lung Association or a charity of one’s choice.
The family would like to thank the excellent staff at the Victoria Hospital for their care and support with special thanks to Teena and John.
