She was born on February 22, 1946 in Doncaster, England and passed on December 26, 2024.
Valerie was predeceased by daughter Karyn and is survived by husband Terry, two sons Eric and Sean and three grandson Angus, Soren and Nevil.
Valerie was a teacher in the Winnipeg One School Division, teaching English and French. She was called back twice after retirement to fill in. Several times former students recognized her and stopped to say hello and catch up.
On trips to France and Quebec, she was referred to a couple of times as “la professeure” because of her flawless and lovely French. She enjoyed our trips but was always happy to come back home to Canada and Winnipeg. She faithfully frequented the little shops and artisans in Winnipeg.
Valerie is missed by her family and many friends and acquaintances. She was known as a faithful dog-walker to be seen every day on the Cloutier trail with one or two dogs.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, January 3, 2025 at Thomson “In the Park” Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd.
