He was one of the founders of the Canadian Chiropractic Research Foundation and one of the first chiropractic radiologists in Canada. From 1983 until his retirement in December 2011 he worked as a part time consultant with the Workers Compensation Board. He was very active in the chiropractic profession throughout his career, serving on the Manitoba Chiropractors Association Board, lecturing extensively and mentoring others.
He was also very active, spending his younger years as a competitive paddler and curler, later enjoying running, boating, scuba diving, spear fishing, and golf. He loved spending time at Falcon Lake and gardening in his yard. At the age of 65, he earned his black belt in Tae Kwon Do. Throughout his life, he was an avid reader and in later years, a great friend to his two dogs Elliot and Marcel. More recently he became very active in studying French and discovering extended family, delighting in connections with many previously unknown relatives in North America and France.
