Ronald Thomas Buchanan

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our husband and father, Ronald Thomas Buchanan, on July 22 at the age of 65 years.

Ronald had a very kind soul. He was hardworking, generous and had a spiritually inclined heart to lift everyone up when times were difficult. He wore his heart on his sleeve and provided his loved ones with immensely positive advice when battling any issue, big or small. He was that rock in our lives that was built from a solid foundation of trust and dedication. He always told us “It’s better to understand than to be understood…” he was wise beyond his precious years and I have adopted that outlook into my own journey in life.

Dad had a fierce love of Jesus, God and of the Holy Spirit, and I had prayed many times with him in hopes of sharing a spiritual experience with God. He was always our symbol of a lighthouse, someone we could depend on in times necessary for reassurance, regarding love and light in trials and tribulations. He was very secure and stood tall in what he believed in – what we as a family believed in; he was powerfully optimistic.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 17 at Thomson Funeral Home, 669 Broadway, with viewing starting at 1:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ron’s name to a charity of one’s choice.
