Peacefully on December 7th, 2015 with family by his side, with great sadness we said farewell to our beloved husband, father, Papa, and Great Papa. Left to cherish his memory are Grace his loving wife of 64 years, daughter Marlene, son Kelly (Karen), daughter Verland (Dave). Grandchildren Melanie (Adam), Cameron (Michelle), Leah, Jill (Harry), Cara and Brianna. Great granddaughters, London, Brooklyn and Maya. Brother George and sister Margaret (Pete) as well as many nieces and nephews.
Paul was predeceased by his parents Gerhard and Elizabeth Wiebe, brothers Otto, Jake, Herman, John and sister Helen.
Paul was born in Chortitz, MB., later moving to Winnipeg at the young age of 16. He worked for Winnipeg Hydro for 33 years and then became a building inspector for the City of Winnipeg. While working full time for the city he also worked as a contractor, building 17 houses in the course of his career.
He lived his faith which was exemplified in his life. He was very active in his church, Calvary Temple, singing in the choir, quartet, radio group and Faith to Live By. He was one of the original builders of Calvary Temple Youth Camp. After building a family cottage at Manhattan Beach Camp on Pelican Lake he became an active member of the planning committee.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather (Papa) and great grandfather. His family was very important to him and always came first. His grandchildren and great grandchildren were a source of great joy. He loved travelling with his wife Grace and spending time at the cottage with family and friends. He will be greatly missed by both family and friends alike.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Bethania Nursing Home for their care and compassion.
Viewing will take place Thursday, December 10th 2015 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Klassen Funeral Home 1897 Henderson Hwy. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 11th, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Temple in the Buntain Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Parkinson’s society or Calvary Temple Camp.
