Patricia Jean Chase

Sadly, and unexpectedly at Winnipeg Health Sciences Centre, on Tuesday, October 25, 2023, in her 73rd year, Patricia Jean Chase (nee Vodden) passed away.

Born on March 2, 1950, in Cardiff, Wales, Pat was the most beloved wife of Richard (Rick) Chase. They were married in 1993 and were just 33 days away from their 30th anniversary. Loving mother of Sean (Jennifer) Adams and Michael (Susan) Adams and stepmother of Steven (Madeline) Chase, Christopher Chase, Michael (Kasia) Chase and Lisa Chase. Cherished grandmother of Tayller, Bailley, Kira, Sadie, William and Nicholas, Natalie, Lucie, Sophie, Matthew, Anthony and Olivia. Daughter of the late Bruce and Molly Vodden of Abbotsford, BC. Loving sister of Linda (Jeff) Hauley, Kathryn (Doug Holbrow) McKay and the late Christine (Lyle) Caldwell and sister-in-law of Robert (Barbara) Chase, Ronald (Judy) Chase and Mary Ann (Bruce) Craig. She will be missed by her many nephews and nieces, great and great-great nephews and nieces, her in-laws and the rest of her large circle of family and friends.

Pat came to Canada when she was six, where she lived in Pickering, Ontario for a few years before her family moved to Abbotsford, BC. Pat spent most of her career as an administrator or executive with various companies. She trained to be a reservist on the Vancouver Police Force and early on trained to be a pilot, proudly earning her wings. She was a devoted Christian Scientist and had many friends in the church community.

She was a loving, gracious, and kind woman making others first and who opened her arms and heart to everyone she met. She lived most of her life in Abbotsford and Langley, BC, and for the past ten years in Mexico where she provided support for several charities and non-profits. She and Rick had just relocated back to Winnipeg to start a new chapter and to be near family.

Cremation is being handled by Thomson “In The Park” Funeral Home and Cemetery, 1291 McGillivray Blvd, Winnipeg, MB R3T5Y4. Memorial service will be held at a future date. The family requests that donations in Pat’s memory be made to the Christian Science Church, White Rock, BC, or the charity of your choice.
