With great sadness we announce the passing of our loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She will be deeply missed by son Ken (Margaret); daughter Linda (Richard); sister Ruth; grandchildren Ashlee (Kyle), Skye (Anton), Chancellor, and Matthew; great-grandchild Winter; niece Marlene; nephew Stephen; great-niece Lindsey (Matt); great-nephew Clinton (Karen); and many cousins and many treasured friends. She was predeceased by her husband Frank; parents William and Olga; siblings Mary and Arthur, brother-in-law Bill; niece Adeline; and nephew Alex.
Martha was born in Minitonas and grew up in the Ravensworth district. Childhood memories include an encounter with a black bear and many life long friends among them Anne, who walked with her to school in Grade one. She moved and lived most of her life in Winnipeg. She was a hard worker with lots of spunk. She was known in her senior years for her red hat. She was a barber, a cosmetologist, and a homemaker who kept a spotless house and a beautiful garden. One of her great loves was her sister Ruth who companioned her throughout her whole life and supported her completely. She loved her children and grandchildren very deeply and was always concerned for their well being. We will miss her. Truly a great Canadian from Manitoba.
