Marjorie Armstrong

SEPTEMBER 19, 1926 – JANUARY 5, 2011

We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Marjorie Armstrong (84) with her family by her side at Victoria General Hospital on Wednesday, January 5, 2011.

Mom was born in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba, September 19, 1926 and lived most of her adult life in Fort Garry. Fiercely independent she lived in her own home until August of 2010 and then moved to an apartment in Rotary Villa only a few blocks away. Still living independently she embraced her months at the Rotary Villa and made many new friends.

She is survived by her daughter Tanna, son-in-law Robert, grandson Rob and granddaughter-in-law Amanda.

Sincere thanks to the staff of 4S, especially Kim whose compassion and caring were in abundance at this sad time.

Cremation has taken place and interment will be at a later date in Thomson “In the Park” Cemetery, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. Mom was a very private person and as such no formal service will be held.

Mom adored animals of all kinds especially cats. In lieu of flowers, if so desired, please make a donation to the Winnipeg Humane Society in Mom’s memory – she would love that she had some part in helping a furry friend find a forever home.
