Sadly we wish to announce the passing of Margaret Hartley at the Kildonan Personal Care Home. She was born in Winnipeg and moved to England with her husband in 1933. They returned to Winnipeg after the Second World War.
Margaret was predeceased by her husband Eric in 1991, her daughter Brenda in 1973 and her parents Alexander and Ann Pearson.
She is survived by her nephew Warren and great nephew David and their
families in Detroit, Michigan and nephew Dale and niece Marlene.
Lovingly remembered by her “adopted” niece Margaret and her family and many other friends.
A very active lady, she belonged to St. Stephens Anglican Church where she was a member of the A.C.W., baking for many functions. She also belonged to the Eager Beaver Club, Roxy Senior Bowling, Poplar Eager Beavers Carpet Bowling, Aqua Fitness at Sunrise Towers and Good Neighbour’s Carpet Bowling.
Thanks to Rev. Diane for her frequent visits which brought her much comfort and many a good laugh.
Many thanks to all who visited her at the KPCH. She loved your visits and looked forward to them.
She also appreciated the many cards and flowers from friends and family.
The celebrations of her 100th birthday were much appreciated and made her feel very special.
Grateful thanks to the loving and caring staff at KPCH and at the Seven Oaks Dialysis Unit.
The funeral service will be held at St. Stephen’s Anglican Church, 220 Helmsdale, on Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. Cremation will follow.
Margaret will be laid to rest in Elmwood Cemetery Friday, July 27, 2012 at 1:30 p.m.
