The time has come to say farewell to our Dad, grandfather and great grandfather Marcel Gaudry.
The Lord took his hand early Monday morning after a brief illness.
Special Thanks to the remarkable staff of St. Boniface hospital and the transport team from Concordia Hospital. They cared for Dad with respect and compassion and the family is ever Thankful.
Dad was born in Lisieux Saskatchewan in 1923 to Modeste and Aldea Gaudry (nee Lamontagne) Dad was predeceased by his devoted wife and the mother of their 5 children, Rita Gaudry in October of 2007. He leaves to mourn two sons Claude Gaudry (Alida) and Gerry Gaudry(Pablita who passed in January 4th,2013) Also three daughters Lorraine Lavack(Raymond), Jeanette St. Pierre (Marcel) and Cecile Wermann (Bernd)as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He came from a large family and is survived by two sisters Flo Hill (Don) in Arizona and Alice Weaver (late Bruce Weaver) of Winnipeg.
Dad held a sacred place in his heart for his loving Mother whom he lost at the tender age of 14.
After a life of hard manual labour, he retired early from the CN. shops at 59 to enjoy a long and healthy retirement. He lived in his own home to the age of 90 and spent the last months at St Benedict's place under the extraordinary care of Francis Evers who went above and beyond the call of duty caring for our Dad. He loved the people and spiritual companionship of St Benedicts and absolutely loved his home there. He took up bike riding at the age of 90 and so enjoyed the grounds of St. Benedict's place.
Funeral mass will be held at his former home parish of St. Alphonsus 315 Munroe Ave. on Thursday November 6th, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. where he attended mass daily as long as he was able to do so. Lunch to follow in the parish hall. Fr. Janusz Maron will be presiding
