Georgina “Jean” Taylor (Finch) (nee Bottrell)
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jean Taylor on Thursday, April 13, 2023, at the age of 91 years.
Jean is survived by her daughter Faye (Sheila), siblings; Jack (Madeline), Grace, Fern, Clay (Pat), Greg (Marianne), the Cramer family and numerous other extended family members.
She was predeceased by her spouses Bill Finch & Jack Taylor, son Tim Finch, brother-in-law Jim Grant, sister-in-law Alberta Finch, nephews Randy Bottrell, Jim, Bill & Garth Finch.
Jean was born in Miami MB, growing up in Roseisle and Rosebank. The eldest of six siblings, she took on the role of 2nd mother to the family. In 1951 Jean married Bill Finch and dedicated her life to raising her two children (Faye & Tim) in Fort Rouge. Sometime after the sudden passing of Bill, Jean married Jack Taylor. They spent their leisure time travelling and dining out. Jack passed away in 1977.
After retiring from Investors Group with over 30 years of service, Jean found contentment in simple joys. She spent time tending to her flower garden, the envy of the neighborhood. A lifelong daily reader, she often devoured a book in one sitting.
Jean was a compassionate soul who loved her dog Cindy Lou intensely and supported many charities including animal rescue initiatives and those benefiting children.
Donations, in lieu of flowers, can be made in her name to the Winnipeg Humane Society.
A funeral will be held at Thomson “In the Park” Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. on Tuesday, June 27, at 2:00 pm with interment and reception to follow. For those who wish to join virtually can select "join livestream" below.
We wish to thank the staff members at the Convalescent Home of Winnipeg and Pembina Place Mennonite Personal Care Home for their compassion and care during her stay with them.
