It is with heavy hearts that the family of Larry Whyte announce his passing at the age of 79.
Larry was born in Saskatoon where he met the love of his life Carole at the age of 18.
They moved to Winnipeg in 1971 where Larry continued in the drywall industry taking pride in the relationships he built through ownership of Custom Drywall.
Larry and Carole became a big part of the Charleswood community where friends and neighbors became family. He loved spending time playing hockey, baseball, curling, fishing, and hunting….it wasn’t so much the activity but the comradery and connections he made. He always loved to laugh.
He also had a passion for cars that started when he was a member of the Saskatoon Draggins Club and continued in Winnipeg where he collected classic cars.
In 2004 Larry and Carole moved to Sandy Hook golf course then back to Winnipeg in 2021.
Larry will be sadly missed by his wife of 55 years Carole, three children Trevor, Kelly (Ken), Shannon (Keith); 8 grandchildren Brett (Tammi), Jorden (Madison), Taryn, Paige (Cam), Jesse T (Kayla) Jesse J (Larissa), Chase (Austin), McKinley; 5 great grandchildren; Colby, Leon, Brooklyn, Mason, Easton; sister Claudia, sister-in-law Terri, family and friends.
Larry was predeceased by his mother Hazel, father Alfred, in-laws Wilma, Harold, Faye, Jack and Barry.
He passed peacefully with his final moment looking into the eyes of his loving wife.
The family wishes to send a heartfelt thank you to all the people who provided care to Larry following his diagnosis and special thank you to the first responders, paramedics and all the Doctors and staff at St. Boniface hospital who gave us the opportunity to say our final goodbyes.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, December 22, 2022 at 2:00pm at Thomson “In the Park” Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. A Livestream link is available on the Thomson “In the Park” website.
In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.
