Kerri passed away, surrounded by her family, on December 29, 2012. She led an amazing life leaving her happy and fulfilled. Unfortunately, Kerri only lived 35 years due to illness.
She will be sadly missed, and also lovingly remembered by her husband of 6 years Simon Trepel, daughters Lauren and Paige, parents Ken and Klasien Tymchuk, brother Jeff Tymchuk, as well as extended family and beloved dog Petri.
Kerri was born in Winnipeg, and raised in Charleswood. She attended Shaftsbury High School, and graduated in 1995. She attended the University of Manitoba, earning degrees in both Arts and Law. Kerri articled and worked at Fillmore Riley. She later worked for the City of Winnipeg initially as the City Bylaw Prosecutor, as well as practicing Labor law.
Kerri met the love of her life Simon, and together enjoyed a fun (Kerri would say it was ‘way too long’) courtship, cozy home, elegant wedding, happy marriage, forever home, and the birth of 2 beautiful daughters.
Kerri was great at almost anything she tried. Her strength, intelligence, organization and stubborn will to achieve her goals made her such a successful person. Kerri became a lifeguard in her late teens, and developed a lifelong love of water, probably a fond memory of her childhood on Eldridge. She was athletic, and enjoyed rollerblading, cycling, running, and swimming.
Kerri also had amazing taste in décor and fashion. Her love of shopping was buoyed by the recent opening of Ikea.
Kerri’s greatest joy in life was motherhood. She loved her daughters Lauren and Paige more than anything, and gave them the best start any mother ever could. Her kindness, and ability to display her love so openly with her daughters is evident in their happiness. Kerri knew this love would only grow as they get older, and celebrate the memory of Mommy.
Kerri was a beautiful person. She was positive, gentle, funny, tenacious, and more than any single writing could summarize. She had many friends who love her and will miss her. Her smile was a masterpiece and her eyes magnetic.
Kerri realized her passing would cause sadness, but she wished to be celebrated because she truly felt happy with who she was, whom she loved, and the choices she made.
A very big thank-you to all who have helped Kerri and her family over the past year. It was hard at times, but your love and support, food, availability and understanding are all appreciated.
A celebration of Kerri’s life took place on January 7, 2013 at the Immanuel Pentecostal Church, 955 Wilkes Avenue, at 1pm.
