We sadly announce the passing of Julie Love of Winnipeg on August 14, 2023. Julie was, and forever will be, the heart and soul of our family and will be greatly missed.
Julie was predeceased by her mother (Anne) and father (Tom) and will be lovingly remembered by her husband Mel; her three sons Vincent (Katy), Ryan (Alysia) and Reid (Cheryl); and grandchildren Dylan, Krys, Nolan, Nate, Andreas, Reagan, Grayson and Carter and her siblings Albert (Eileen), Walter (June) and Alex.
Julie was born in Dauphin on September 7, 1949 and grew up on a farm south of Grandview. In 1970 Julie received a diploma in Medical Radiation Technology and later on received a Bachelor of General Studies through Brandon University. Julie was employed in the profession for almost 50 years. First at Portage la Prairie for two years, followed by Swan Lake Memorial Hospital for 36 year and then she finished her career at Meadowood Clinic in Winnipeg.
Julie met Mel in Swan Lake and they married in 1971. She was busy raising three sons and working at the hospital in Swan Lake while also being actively involved in the family pharmacy business. She loved her family and had many friends. She loved social gatherings and traveling was her favorite pastime. She traveled to many places, among her favorites were Australia and Europe. She also loved visiting her sons while they lived in Calgary, Connecticut, New York and Colorado. She was very active and over the years ran many half marathons, including in Nashville, Winnipeg and New Jersey.
Julie fought cancer bravely, twice, until her body ultimately had to surrender. She made her family so proud the way she battled and never gave up, she was and will always be in inspiration. Her love of life, her strong will and her kind soul will be missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.
