Joan was born in Bristol, England to Kenneth and Elsie Bryant. In 1949 the family emigrated to Saskatchewan, eventually moving to Winnipeg in 1951.
Joan worked at the downtown Eatons store and Pioneer Grain. Through mutual friends she was introduced to Edward and in 1955 they married. Joan and Edward raised five children in the house on Maplewood Avenue.
In the mid 70s Joan returned to work at Eatons in Polo Park and eventually retired in the mid 90s.
Joan is survived by her beloved husband of 66 years, Edward, daughters Cynthia (Bob), Andrea (Neil) and Kate (Darryl), grandchildren Gabrielle, Lauren, Liam, Jacob, Erin and Brooke, and many nieces and nephews. Joan was predeceased by her sons Kenneth in 1995 and Edward in 2005, and her dear sister Eileen.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, June 2 at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Victory Memorial Parish, 249 Arnold Ave.
Donation's in Joan's name may be made to Rossbrook House.
