Jennifer Marie Michaels

Mom was born in Vita, MB March 15,1932. Mom was raised in Sundown, where she attended high school until Grade 11. She attended Grade 12 at St. Andrews College in Winnipeg. Mom went on to study at Normal school and obtained her teacher’s certificate in June 1951. Mom later returned to university and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1974. Mom taught for 41 years.

Mom married Steven Koshelanyk in June 1951 and they lived in Caliento and they had 5 children, Marian, Michael, Emile, Ernest (Tammy) and Anna Marie (Aaron). Steven passed away in 1960. Mom and the 5 kids moved to Winnipeg in 1961. In 1962, she married Daniel Daley. They had 3 children, Daniel (Flora), Jeanne (Robert) and Alana (Harry). They were divorced in 1971. Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren born were Tammy, Myrosha, Kira, Sascha, Nicholas, Miranda, Joseph, Daniel, Jeremy and Mikah. Great Grandchildren born were Brett, Lucy, Rosie and Daniel.

Mom was predeceased by her father Michael and mother Annie, her sisters Vicki and Alice and brother Tony. She is survived by her brother Harold (Marlene) Stadnyk.

Mom loved her family and the simpler things like flowers, gardening, reading, politics, basketball, cooking, and time with family. Mom lived life with strength and determination and she will be missed. Moms strong faith guided her life until her peaceful end.

The family thanks the incredibly caring staff at Misericordia Place where Mom has lived since September 2013. Mom was treated with kindness, respect and compassion in her time there. The family cannot thank them enough for everything that they did for Mom.

A service to celebrate her life will be held on Friday, October 26, at 1:00 pm at Misericordia Place Chapel, 44 Furby Avenue.
