Jean Stuart Williamson passed away on July 31, 2015 at the age of 95.
Born and raised in Montreal as the oldest of four girls, Jean came to Winnipeg in the early 1940’s to attend Western Bible College. Jean served as a minister with the Pentecostal church in rural Manitoba but subsequently returned to attend United College graduating in 1954. She taught grade school in Emerson, Manitoba for many years. Jean placed a high value upon education and was immensely proud of her three bachelor degrees. She would always include her degree abbreviations whenever signing or printing her name. Upon retirement, Jean again returned to Winnipeg to become a very active member of Calvary Temple. She especially enjoyed singing in the choir.
Jean was predeceased by her sister Annie on New Year’s Day, 1931. She is survived by her two sisters, Florence DuBois of Ottawa and Mary Doughty of Bermuda as well as two nieces, three nephews and their families.
A Memorial Service will be held at Calvary Temple, 400 Hargrave Street, on Monday, August 10, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Brookside Cemetery.
