It is with saddened hearts we announce the passing of Jean Coutts at the age of 89, on April 8th 2013.
She will be missed by daughters Bonnie (John) Heke and Cathie (Mike) Coutts-Lau. Grandchildren Jason (Sarah) Heke, Cameron (Carolyn) Heke , Megan (Ryan) Heke, Nicholas Lau, Rachael Lau, and Collin Lau and great grandchildren. Jean is survived by sisters, Bernice Lash (Gottfried), and brother Hillary (Rose) Gottfried and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by husband John (Jack) Harold Coutts. Predeceased also by her parents, Mary and Frank Gottfried, her sisters Gail Kosowich (Gord), Agnes (Tony) Barchuk and brothers Norbert, Allan (Darlene) and Gerald and grandchild Jeffrey Lau.
Jean was born in Berlo, Manitoba, and was the oldest of eight siblings. Jean moved to Winnipeg with her family, and when Jack returned from WW11 they were married. Jean worked at Woolco and was an avid sewer and loved playing bingo when time allowed. She enjoyed the love from her seven grandchildren and great grandchildren and spent her later years in Deer Lodge in Winnipeg. She enjoyed doing craft projects, and playing bingo at Deer Lodge in the years that they took care of her, and they kept her up and active, and on the go. Her friend of 74 years Anne was always a phone call away, and was comforting after Jack had passed away. Growing up, camping, getting together, and reminiscing are so many of the things they shared in life. Thank you Anne and Ed for your support after dad had passed, to mom.
Jean and Jack will be reunited in heaven along with the many family members that are also missed, and already left for heaven.
