It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Janice McConnell on Tuesday January 15, 2019 at 71 years of age.
Left to mourn are her children, daughter Debbie, son Allan, grand-daughter Keira, sister-in-law Donna Anderson (Lorne), nieces and nephews, and many other close friends and co-workers.
Janice was born in Flin Flon, lived in British Columbia in her younger years, and moved to Winnipeg where she married and raised two children in their North End home. Janice worked in the retail industry for 35 years, and had many interests such as bowling, bingo, crosswords, crib, and adding to her collection of knick-knacks.
She loved spending time with her family, especially her grand daughter Keira, who she was very close to. Keira was her pride and joy. She was a quiet and humble woman who was very dedicated to her career, and would help any of her colleagues at a time of need. Her dedication to her work continued for many years after she was eligible to retire. She was employed up until her last day with us. She was a kind and gentle sole, and it was because of these admirable qualities that Janice will be missed by those in her life. Her thoughtfulness nature will be forever missed.
Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, January 25, 2019 at Klassen Funeral Home, 1897 Henderson Highway with a come and go reception between 1:00pm and 3:00pm. This will be followed by a short burial service at Glen Eden Cemetery.
If desired, donations can be made in lieu of flowers to the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Manitoba.
