He is survived by his devoted wife Maureen and his beloved children Richard (Kim) and Jaclynn. His sisters; Irene (Ernie) Anema, Linda (Ed) Stevens, Carol (Bernard) Burch and his brothers; Art (Val), Bob (Denise), Jack (Maria), nephew Colin (Kyla), nieces Susan and Christina.
He is predeceased by his parents George and Helen (nee Wieler) his sister-in-law Irene (nee Wintoniak), and his nephew David Elias.
Jim was born May 29, 1953 in Winkler and graduated from Dakota Collegiate in 1971. After graduation Jim found himself working beside his Dad at Elias Truck Service. When his dad retired, Jim took the reins and worked tirelessly to build and grow the business.
Jim was passionate about his family, his “72 Oldsmobile Cutlass 442 and the Rolling Stones. In spite of suffering from many illnesses he lived his life to the fullest, he was and will continue to be respected and loved by those who knew him.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at Klassen Funeral Home.
