It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grand-father. Following a brief illness, Georges passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Monday January 21, 2013 at the age of 73. He will be lovingly remembered by his beloved wife of 50 years, Lucille (née Lajeunesse); his children Diane (Norman) Magne, Thérèse (Tom) Beitz, Gérald, Richard (Sandra), and Robert (Bonnie); his grand-children Eric (Stéphanie), Nadine (Colin), Kayla, Tyler, Emily, Abigail, and Bradley. He will also be missed by his brothers and sisters Henri (Gertrude), Angèle (Roger) Pantel, Elise (Arthur) Gautron, Marcel, Marie Kostyniuk, André (Simone), Alphonse (Rita), Denis (Juliette), Aline (Dan) Valeska, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, Noé in 1994 and Cécile (née Chapellaz) in 2012.
Georges was born in Haywood, Manitoba. He was a hard working farmer for many years until he and Lucille moved to Oak Bluff, Manitoba, in 1981. Georges had a passion for square dancing. He loved old time music and even played a bit of violin and the spoons. He enjoyed being around family & friends. He entertained us with stories of the farm, always cracking a joke in there somewhere. Georges will be fondly remembered for his friendly personality, his gift of gab, and his uncanny sense of humour.
