June 9, 1942 – May 10, 2012
Frank Stockl Sr., retired architect unexpectedly passed away on May 10, 2012.
He will be very much missed and always remembered by his wife Elizabeth, son Frank (Jr.), Daughter-in-law Kimberley and his four grandchildren Jordan, Christian, Dylan and Alexa. Kimberley’s extended family and his many friends will always fondly remember him.
Frank was born June 9, 1942 in Szeged Hungary. He graduated from the University of Budapest (architecture). He married his one true love in London England in 1965. While living in Germany he won two design competitions before he immigrated to Canada in 1967. He worked for many years at the City of Winnipeg before he retired in 1998.
Frank was slightly eccentric and was a man who lived life on his own terms. He had an incredible sense of humor and was a joker who loved to tell his stories as long as someone was willing to listen. He was industrious and built and designed no less than a dozen houses. He had impeccable style and was a master furniture builder. He loved to travel and take his family on legendary car trips. He adored his grandchildren. He loved animals, music and life. He was a good man who was loving, kind and tolerant. He will leave such an empty space in our hearts and will be dearly missed. May he rest in peace.
A funeral service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 16th at Thomson “In the Park” Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Misericordia Health Centre Foundation, 99 Cornish Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3C 1A2, Phone 1-204-788-8458.
