It is with great sadness; the family of Elizabeth Eleanor Ambach announces her passing on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 in Calgary at the age of 96.
Elizabeth is survived by her sons, Mark and Rolfe, and grandson Michael. She was predeceased by her husband Michael, parents Friedrich and Theresa Konzelman, and brothers, Joe Konzelman, Fritz Konzelman, and sisters, Margaret Jung Theresa Konzelman, Connie Lundgren, Luise Peitsch, and Irma Bommersbach.
Elizabeth was born in Unterwalden, Poland on March 11, 1928. In 1948 she immigrated to Canada with her parents and sisters Margaret, Theresa and Luise residing in Winnipeg. She first gained employment as a seamstress and spent many years working in the garment industry, eventually in a supervisory capacity in both Winnipeg and Saskatoon.
In 1951, she married Michael raising two sons, and after a family move to Saskatoon in 1969 Elizabeth became very involved in community activities and was instrumental in the initiation of Saskatoon Folkfest where she was the representative for the German Canadian Concordia Club. Following Michael’s retirement, they returned to Winnipeg where she became involved in the Lutheran Church becoming a founding member of Abundant Life Lutheran Church where she, along with her sister Margaret provided baked goods for the numerous social events.
She deeply loved and had a special relationship with her only grandson, Michael and will be missed by all.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Foothills Medical Centre and Dulcina Hospice for their kind care in her final days.

Funeral Services will be held at Abundant Life Lutheran Church Tuesday, April 23rd at 1:00pm.
