Duane passed away suddenly on September 17, 2017 at the age of 69 years. He is survived by Pauline, his spouse of 40 years and brothers Eldon (Linda) of Saskatoon, Ardean (Yvonne) of Calgary and Dennis (Lorie) of Saskatoon. He was predeceased by his parents Emanuel and Marcela Braun and his brother Gary.
Duane attended the University of Saskatchewan where he obtained a degree in Arts and Science (Geology) in 1969. He spent his entire working career as a mine geologist with Inco, Manitoba Division, in Thompson.
Upon retiring, he and Pauline moved to Winnipeg. Duane became actively involved in his new community and volunteered at Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre, the Fringe Festival, the Winnipeg Comedy Festival and the Manitoba Marathon, and as a Standardized Patient with the Clinical Learning and Simulation program at the Rady Faculty of Health Sciences. His passion was working as an extra in a number of movies, television episodes and commercials. He was an ardent Blue and Gold Fan and attended most of the Grey Cup games over the past 10 years.
Duane was a private and independent person. In keeping with his wishes, there will be no service. A private family gathering with interment will occur at a later date.
