Survived by her husband, Ron Mehmel, his parents, brothers and sisters, his son Jeff, her sister Sheena Murphy (Geoff Bovett), and an even wider circle of friends and family.
Deirdre was scholarly, athletic and artistic and completely at home on a motorcycle, on horseback, or in the pilot’s seat.
Her presence in our lives will be sorely missed.

A Funeral Service was held on Friday, August 17, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Klassen Funeral Home, 1897 Henderson Hwy.
