Peacefully, after a courageous battle . . . It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of David Hassett of Winnipeg, MB at the age of 61 on August 4, 2020.
David will be very sadly missed by his wife Donna Titley, their daughters Kyla (Josh), Amanda (Stefan), beloved grandchildren Jacob and Hayley. Also left to cherish his memory is his brother Giles of Edmonton and David’s children Shannon, Tara, Amanda, Tammie of Winnipeg as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents Anna and Giles Hassett, his brother Clarence Wilbert Hassett, his sister Laura Miljour.
Dave was a very proud, hard working man. In his early life he worked on the family farm, which he often remembered fondly. He worked for a number of industries in his younger days, but stuck to the food industry as he got older; he even owned his own restaurant for a period of time.
For those that knew Dave, they will recall he could have a hard shell, but was a real softie underneath that exterior. He had a very big personality and had the most contagious laugh (he sure brought a lot of fun times to those around him).
His presence and chats will be so deeply missed.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a private memorial service will be held, with interment taking place at the family plot in Manitou, Manitoba.
The family would like to thank the nurses at the Grace Hospital, especially Andrea for her sensitivity and compassion towards Dave.
