He hung on to endless hope and tried various treatments to stave off his brain tumour. His regime was heavy on him. After some time he pushed himself with the best of his ability, to enjoy the things he loved. Golfing, fishing, country life, and eating at the Keg his fav restaurant.
Throughout he showed the courage of a champion, a strong determined man.

In his very early years, Chris watched & learned many things from his late grandfather Ken Hodge while still sitting in his stroller in the garage. As early as 1 year of age, he was content watching & seeing the projects come to be. Chris was a grandpa’s boy and that is where he started to learn the skills of a handyman. This continued, as he was a very curious toddler, he just had to take things apart & figure out how to put them back together which got him into some interesting situations. As an adult, he was always helpful and willing to lend a hand to others that needed handy man help.
His real passion was golfing, which he learned as a young teenager from Richard. He was hooked. At every chance, you could find him on a course playing with friends. He liked to dress for the sport and always had to have updated clubs. Chris’s course was Selkirk Country Club, they honoured him with kindness, gifting him rounds of golf, including a cart, so he could enjoy one of his favorite pastimes. Chris also played at many Wpg courses, & vacation resorts.
A close second was enjoying boating & fishing on the Lee River in Lac Du Bonnet, with his dad & his friends, also visits to Moth lake with his late grandmother Evelyn. He loved a fish fry & his dad the filleter.
Chris placed an interest in cars his favorite was a Lamborghini that he dreamed of owning. He enjoyed watching the car races at Gimli Race Track, always available for helping a friend that would enter their car.
He loved barbecuing a good steak, and having a couple of bubbly’s with friends, and sitting around a fire in his backyard with his partner Nancy.
He was a fan of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, and the Winnipeg Jets, on game night you could find him in front of TV cheering them on. Chris also enjoyed some occasional gambling, especially when in Vegas, his kind of town.
There was a time in his mom’s life that Chris was her rock, offering advice she could always depend on.
Chris had been employed at Color Melt in Wpg Mb. for 13 years. He enjoyed his job as a painter, possessing an excellent work ethic. His expertise & pride could always be seen in his work, it was noticed.
Chris enjoyed his travels, to Vegas, Mexico, and South Dakota. Western provinces with family, friends.
Christmas holidays & his birthday were events he truly enjoyed. He was still a kid at heart.
Our loving son will not be forgotten, he will always be in our hearts, prayers and memories.
A soul in our lives no one could replace. His wish is for everyone to just remember the times you shared with him.
Our Chris was 46 years of age, he had the opportunity to experience some of life’s offerings but has gone away far too soon.
He had so much more he wanted to do and be.
