Catherine Dowling (nee) Tokaryk (nee) Tucker, born March 19th 1919 passed away suddenly with family by her side on November 30th 2020 at Holy Family Home.
Kay was the last surviving first generation of the pioneers whose parents immigrated to Canada in 1897 from a village called Halychyna, Ukraine. Kay wasn't a big fan of the farm work, she actually left the farm for the city to continue her education she wanted to study linguistics, Kay was employed as a stenographer at C.P Rail this is where she would meet her future husband Norman.
Her and Norman lived a full life travelling to many different countries, creating many cherished memories even though they had no children, she had many nieces and nephews whom she treated all equally.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband Norman, her parents Alexander and Magda as well as 3 brothers and 4 sisters.
Kay is survived by her god son Arnold, nephews Greg, Ronnie, Eddy and Eugene, nieces Debbie, Darlene, Patsy, Dianne and Olia. She also had a special place in her heart for her great nieces Shawndrea, Marcie, great nephews Clayton, Keegan also great great nieces Cayla, Aiyanna, great great nephews Brenden and Clayton JR and so many more whom will truly miss her.
Remember she wasn't just Catherine she was "Catherine the Great"
