Bobby Panchoo passed away suddenly on April 26, 2023, at St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg.
Born on August 26, 1949, Bobby grew up Aranguez, Trinidad and then lived in New Jersey briefly before returning to Trinidad, marrying Tara in December 1975, and moving to Winnipeg in May 1976.
He is survived by his wife Tara, daughter Selena (Andrew), son Terrence (Verena), grandson Sanjay and siblings Errol, Lucille (Harry), Carol and Balroop. He now rests with his parents and siblings Ena and Clarence.
As one of the founding members of Shanti Seva Sabha in Winnipeg, Bobby loved attending prayers every Sunday, participating in events and helping to maintain the temple grounds. He always looked forward to phone calls from his grandson and children, gifting them an abundance of fruit and vegetables whenever they would visit.
Bobby loved gardening, golf, big celebrations with friends and family, and his annual trip to Trinidad for Carnival. He was also an avid watcher of Wheel of Fortune, often solving the puzzles before his wife Tara, although she would debate this.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at 3:00 pm at Shanti Seva Sabha, 499 Jamison Avenue.
