Earl Edwin Dory, 84, of Golconda, passed away June 29, 2012 in Reno, Nevada. He was born on October 4, 1927 in Austin, Nevada to Paul H. and Esther Dory. On April 1, 1947, he married DeLeah Smith in Winnemucca, Nevada. Earl has lived all over in northern Nevada including Austin, Eureka, Ely, Winnemucca, Battle Mountain and Golconda. He was a cowboy and horse trainer, a blade operator for Lyon and Humboldt County Road Departments and a retired Golconda firefighter and Golconda Fire Department board member. He enjoyed horse training, raising sheep, his kids, fishing and camping.
He is survived by his wife DeLeah Dory; his daughter, Jessie (Mark) Bruning; grandchildren, Dorine Dory, DoryAnn Wilson, Travis Dory, Earl Edwin Dory III, William Irwin and Waylon Vigil; great grandchildren, Chancie, Amber, Matthew, Dallas, Peerce, Jaydan, Dusty, Emmett and Isabel.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Earl Jr.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday July 6, 2012 at the Winnemucca Cemetery. There will be a celebration of life at the Golconda School immediately following the graveside service.
