Born in Windsor November 15, 1926. Bob passed away peacefully Sunday June 30, 2013 at 1pm. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years Barbara Ruth Spence (nee Knott), his children and their spouses; Donald and Rose Spence, Ginny and Jim Seguin, Brian and Tracey Spence. He will be missed by his marvelous grandchildren including Sarah (1996), Amanda and Cassie Spence, Josh and Stephanie, Nick and Alex Seguin, and Tanner and Mitchell Spence. Great granddaughter Rian Seguin was a very special blessing for Bob. Bob graduated from DIT as a mechanical engineer. He worked as a quality control engineer in Toronto, Brantford, Hamilton, Kitchener, Windsor, London, Tilbury, Kingsville, and Harrow. Predeceased by his parents William and Olive Spence (nee Furry), his brother Don was a navigator in the RCAF during WWII, he was killed in 1945 and is buried in Belgium. Predeceased by Barbara’s brother Robert Knott and his wife Jean (nee Kennedy), and nephew Frederick. He will also be missed by niece Mary Ann Mayville (nee Knott) and her husband Bill of Kingsville. Bob loved his family deeply and was thrilled to be well enough to spend Father’s Day at the cottage, his favourite respite. Thank you to the loving staff and residents of Oak Park Terrace. The family will receive friends at The Walter D. Kelly Life Celebration Centre, 1969 Wyandotte St. E (519) 252-5711, on Wednesday July 3 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. A celebration of Bob’s life will take place in the funeral home chapel on Thursday July 4 at 10am. In remembrance of Bob, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated.
