DAVIDSON, Irene Jeanette (nee Forbes) Her spirit was released from its worn out body on February 8th, 2016, at the age of 80 and she is now free to explore the universe and finally be joyously reunited with the love of her life, husband Bob (1975), although she’ll probably be peering over our shoulders now and then to make sure we’ve cleaned behind our ears and are not spending her money in a frivolous manner. A proud graduate of Walkerville Collegiate, a Registered Nursing Assistant and longtime member of Lincoln Rd United Church, Irene was the life of the party, always quick with a joke or a jab. The passing of the years only provided her with more creative ways to say smart-alecky things and still know that she loved you. She enjoyed singing very much in the church choir, in the car and in the shower. We owe our eclectic view of the world to this one of a kind woman. Little sister to Margaret Jeffries and Jack Forbes. Wise cracking mother and mother-in-law to Rob Davidson and wife Kellie Clarke. Doting and often critical mom to Heather Davidson (her favorite!) Adoring and goofy Grammy D. to Deanna and Brandon Davidson. Loving and silly Nana to Nate and Zak Nantais. Also survived by Sean Connery, whom she hopes will mourn her appropriately. A special thanks to the wonderful caregivers at Huron Lodge, Sycamore wing. (4-2) A memorial visiting will take place on Monday, February 22nd at Walter D. Kelly Funeral Home from 2-4 and 7-9 with a prayer service at 8 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. We celebrate this wacky lady by imparting some life lessons she taught us; if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it; if it is broke, use a twisty tie; never throw anything away, you might need that empty margarine container or aforementioned twisty tie; always feed the strays; say what’s on your mind and remember, it’s impossible to be sad if you’re holding a cupcake.
