Gord Muir was born on August 26, 1954 at Grace Hospital in Windsor Ontario. He was the third child of two Scottish immigrants James and Isabella Muir, who came to Canada in 1952. His father came as a bricklayer and a civil engineer and his mother was a home keeper. Gord was always a mischievous child who consistently looked for adventure and fun. He had a quick sense of humour and was often successful at making others laugh. He attended General Brock School in Windsor from Kindergarten to Grade 8. He was not fond of school but excelled at being the class clown. He could always make people laugh. His high school years were spent at W.D. Lowe Secondary School. At the age of 18 he began to work at The Ford Motor Company and was an employee for 30 years. He was a Lab Technician at the time of his retirement. Gord was an active and loyal member of the Local 200. Gord loved his family and is survived by his beautiful daughter Irene. She was and always will be his Bright and Morning Star. He was very proud of her and she surpassed his greatest expectations for her. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends and he loved children and animals . His favourite pastimes were fishing, boating, watching air shows, backyard barbecues by the pool and laughing with friends. He is dearly missed by his daughter Irene his greatest gift to the world, his sisters Marylin Muir of Mississauga and Laurie Grimm from Colorado, brothers Robert Muir of Windsor and Ed Muir (aka.) Ed Kelly from West Bloomfield Michigan, former spouse June Muir of Windsor and numerous nieces, nephews, and god children that he enjoyed immensely. Gord will be missed for a very long time and will be remembered for being a loyal friend, always calling a spade a spade, for his loud laughter and sense of adventure and fun. He has now entered the biggest party of all time! We wish him more joy and happiness than his heart can contain in that place where every unfulfilled dream becomes true. He has been set free to his greatest destiny. Enjoy Gord! Enjoy Gord! We are happy for you!
