I knew Fred for many years as I delivered beer to the golf course.  He was a good guy and I looked forward to seeing him on their delivery day. The golf club was lucky to have such a fine fellow looking after their members and guests and I know all my co-workers would agree. Your family was blessed to have him. May he rest in peace. Just to  share some memories  of you and I growing up in Germany, just two years apart, we had fun together. Then also coming over to Canada in 1952 on the ship was quite the memory, where we were all sea sick for quite a few days. Than working together at the Toronto Telegram, then as caddy's at the golf course. Later on we lived miles away and didn't see much of each other over the years. You were always in my thoughts.

Fate has determined that we could spend only a few years together.
The long distance has separated us physically, but the love and affection for each others has nevertheless always remained strong.
For almost 70 years Canada was home for you and your wonderful family. You were very happy and content, but the connection to your home country Germany never broke off.  Your mother tongue with the connected dialect was always immediately present after the many years in the distance, when we communicated with each other.
Thank you for the wonderful years we spent together. Thank you for always being there for your little brother. The memory of you will always remain in my heart.

 We met Fred & Diana back in 1965. Fred [Bones] and I [Radish] worked together at Chrysler. I started in 1964 and Fred in 1965. Fred would park in the Chrysler parking lot with his brand new Ford and I with my brand new Chevy. Needless to say we had a few talks with management about this. We had a fire and Fred helped us move with my grandfather's truck. We stopped for a cool one early in the afternoon. Not knowing it started to rain we didn't leave until dark. Rose Ann ended up with all new furniture. Fred and Diana would invite us to many of their family gatherings. We became very close friends.

My sympathy to the entire Banner family at the loss of Fred.

Fred was a special friend to my late husband Ken having lived across from each other for 9 years. Many a drink and a smoke was shared between these two buddies. Whether they were telling their stories or just sitting relaxing together, it was always a good day. You will be so missed by our whole family dear Fred.

We're very sorry to hear of Fred's passing.  Fred & I were neighbours in Lasalle for about 5 years on Mencarelli St. and I always enjoyed our conversations at  Essex Golf club in the day.  A real gentleman and a great guy.   RIP Fred.  

As a member at Essex Golf Club, and spending a lot of time developing friendships there. Freddie was the man. A gentleman, through and through. Always there with a smile and a funny joke. A class act. So sorry to the family. I will always remember Fred with a warm heart.

Diana and family so sorry for your loss.  The past few years have been so hard on Fred and all of you.  Let's never forget the good times with the mayor of Mencarelli. Funniest memory was the abduction of his red wings chair.  Fred is wrapped in a flag, walking down the street in body and face paint blasting an air horn.

Hey uncle Fred, Klaus here 👋 Funny the things that pop into your head sometimes 💡 my dearest uncle. I remember a time, I was very young sitting on the floor with my Lego spread all around me. I heard your voice, then you came into my room followed by your toothy smile and your warm sparkling eyes that lit up my heart. You grabbed me in a warm embrace and rubbed your entire face in my hair and kissed me on the top of the head.  😘 I giggled and I can tell you that at that moment I knew I was loved by you . That memory has carried me through many dark moments in my life and your life on earth was pure love ❤️ manifested in you, my dear sweet uncle Fred. I can feel your presence now. 💫 That’s how powerful your love for your family was and still is. Now you can rest knowing your love will move us all forward as we all embrace our next chapters in our lives. With precious love and with my own life filled with gratitude 🙏 because you were in it, your beloved nephew Klaus. May you be at peace 🥰

As a friend and coworker of Heidi many years ago , I remember her parents stopping by the restaurant on many occasions. Maybe she was giving them free pizza!?  Lol. I just have to add that her father always came across very loving and supportive. So sorry for your loss.

Fred was loved by so many people in the neighborhood,  Essex Golf and Country Club, The Roma, Tim Hortons and all around.   We were honored to be his neighbour who became family.   So many wonderful memories made over the years.  Many laughs.    Did you know Fred skipped every year of school.  Lol.  He loved teasing the kids.  And he loved our Max.  Hopefully Max and Fred can reunite and begin their new journey together.
