84 years. Passed away on July 11, 2013 at Hotel Dieu Grace Hospital, surrounded by his cherished family. Loving husband of Florence (nee Anderson) for 60 years. Dear father of Patricia (Robert) Wales of Tecumseh, Dennis (Dr. Lucyna Lach) Fortune of Montreal, Brian (Heather) Fortune of Windsor, Garry Fortune of Amherstburg, Kathleen (Keith) Henry of Amherstburg and Michael (Debra LaMantia) of Windsor. Edward was also the proud grandfather of Shannon Wales, Patrick, Kelly, Claire, Liam, Trent Fortune, Elle and Eve LaMantia. He is survived by many nieces and nephews. Dear son of the late A. Edward and Mary Elizabeth Fortune. Dear brother of the late Lois (George) Warren of Windsor, Doris (James) McGraw of Burlington, Garry (Mary) Fortune of Huntington Woods and Murray Fortune of Commerce Twp. MI. Dear son-in-law of the late Jessie and John Zlochvske, brother-in-law of the late Arthur (Jeanette) Anderson and Katherine Suchiu. Edward is survived by his brother-in-law Leo Suchiu of Saskatchewan. Edward was born in Windsor. He attended Assumption College School, St. Michael College and graduated from one of the first classes at Humber College, Toronto, in the Funeral Service Education Program. He was a Funeral Director at Anderson Funeral Service for 40 years. He was the youngest Grand Knight of Knights of Columbus Council 1453; Past District Deputy of District 10; Honorary Member 4th Degree Dean Wagner Assembly Windsor. In 1965, Edward was elected to the Windsor Separate School Board and was a trustee for 30 years. He was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians of America. Visitation will be held at Anderson Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 895 Ouellette Ave (519-254-3223) on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A Knights of Columbus Prayer service will be held on Sunday at 7:30 p.m. Colour Guard is requested to meet at 7:00 p.m. Edward will then rest at St. Alphonsus Church, 85 Park Street East on Monday, July 15, 21013 from 12:30 p.m. to the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 p.m. Interment at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
