Tommy Eugene Rooks, lifelong resident of Winder, passed away on October 22, 2021 at the age of 75. He was the son of the late Larry and Frances Shropshire Rooks. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his granddaughter Amber McBride and his brothers Jimmy Rooks and Billy Rooks.
Tommy was the owner of Rooks Paint and Body Shop on the Atlanta Highway in Winder. He was a United States Army veteran having served during Vietnam. He enjoyed fishing, playing the mandolin, and he especially loved his family.
Tommy is survived by his son Jason Rooks of Jefferson and daughter Michelle McBride also of Jefferson. Survivors also include his granddaughter Marissa (Josh) Day and three great-grandchildren: Kayden Jackson, Hayleigh Day and Carli Day. He is also survived by brothers Keith Rooks of Winder and Larry Rooks of Jefferson; and sisters Judy Dunahoo of Statham, Betty Willoughby of Augusta, and Cathy Rooks of Winder.

A memorial service for Mr. Rooks will be held on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at 2:00 pm in Smith Memory Chapel. A visitation for family and friends will be held at Smith Funeral Home on Tuesday from noon until 2:00 pm.
