He was born in Newnan, GA, to Stanley Baxley, now of Vidalia, GA, and the late Linda Stephens Baxley. He was of the Baptist faith. He had a BS degree in criminal justice. He was an INS fraud investigator with Liberty National Insurance Company and had worked in the past with the Georgia Bureau of Investigations as a special agent and field investigator for six years. He also served on the Altamaha Drug Task Force. He was a passionate musician and an accomplished singer and songwriter. He was a loving husband, brother, son and friend.
He was preceded in death by sister, Lynn Baxley.
Surviving are his wife, Amanda Baxley, Winder; sister and brother-in-law, Kay and Kenneth Lamb, Guyton, GA; nieces and nephews, Brian Lamb, Leslie Lamb, Meredith Lamb, Colby Taylor, Kenneth Nunn, Jayda Beth Taylor and Emily Taylor.
Family will receive friends 6-9 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 12 at Smith Funeral Home, Winder, GA. Funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 13 at Smith Memory Chapel with Rev. Doug Duke officiating. Interment will be 3 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 13 in Oak Hill Cemetery in Newnan, GA.
