Sara Gaynell Skinner

Sara Gaynell Skinner, 86 of Winder, passed away Saturday August 6, 2022. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Sharon Baptist Church. Sara worked at several places during her life including being a seamstress in sewing plants, being a crossing guard for The City of Winder and lastly a job she cherished being a bus monitor for special need kids with The Barrow County School System. She loved to sew and shop, but mostly being a loving homemaker to her family.

Sara was preceded in death by her parents, Hershel and Cora Lee Douglas Carithers, her loving husband of 43 years, Leon Skinner; a son, Leon Skinner Jr; a daughter, Angie Wood and seven brothers. She is survived by her son, Greg Skinner (Janell) of Winder; nine grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Visitation will be held from 6PM until 8PM at Smith Funeral Home Monday August 8, 2022. A funeral service will be held at 2PM Tuesday, August 9, 2022 in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home with Rev. Darrell Skinner officiating. Interment will follow in Barrow Memorial Gardens.
