Samuel Edward Rooks, Sr.

Samuel Edward Rooks, Sr., age 85, passed away on August 16, 2022. He was born on March 11, 1937 in Winder, GA. He was a United States Air Force Veteran and retired from Lockheed Martin. He was a faithful Christian and member of Hebron Baptist Church in Dacula.

Sam was the son of the late John and Lessie Tinch Rooks. He was preceded in death by his wife Carolyn Rooks and four siblings.

Survivors include his children: Melissa Hope, Clarissa (John) Stapleton, and Samuel (Rachel) Rooks; three grandchildren: Adam Barnette, Jeremy (Chelsea) Kiley and Anna (Andrew) Drake; and five great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held Sunday, August 21, 2022 at 3:00 pm in Smith Memory Chapel. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm at Smith Funeral Home, 755 Atlanta Highway SE, Winder.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mr. Rooks may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org or to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital at www.stjude.org.
