Roy Alfred Cobb, age 86 of Winder, passed away Tuesday, September 23, 2014. He was a native of Springfield, MO. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, a member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church and retired after a lifelong career in the apparel manufacturing business. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles L. and Anna May Cobb; his beloved wife, Dolores Jane Cobb; four brothers, Earl Matthew Cobb, Maurice Cobb, Charles Cobb and Robert Cobb and a sister, Katherine M. Rowe. He is survived by his children, Michael L. Cobb (Christine) of Duluth, Connie Stotts (David) of Winder, Victoria Stancil of Charlotte, NC, Rebecca Cobb of Charlotte, NC and Mary Jane Cobb (John Outcelt) of Des Moines, IO; his grandchildren, Robin Spurlin (Dennis), Tracey Rhodes (Brad), Mikey Cobb, Keith Harpster, Stacie Hall (Dustin), Maggie Rickman (Brian), Sam Stotts (Tara), Ashley Black, Will Carver, Kelly Stancil and Keith Outcelt (Lora); great-grandchildren, Will and Wes Spurlin, Georgia and Brady Rhodes, Luke, Kinsey and Presleigh Harpster, Anna Beth Lassiter, Henry and Molly Rickman, Warren and Vera Stotts, Hunter and Chase Carver and Malcolm Outcelt; sisters-in-law, Florence Clemons, Mildred Looney and Emma Bell Cobb; numerous nieces and nephews survive. Visitation will be held Thursday, September 25, 2014 at Smith Funeral Home from 6-8PM. Funeral services will be held at 3:00PM Friday, September 26, 2014 in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home with Rev. Glen McCall officiating. Interment will follow in Barrow Memorial Gardens. Contributions may be made to Cedar Creek Baptist Church, Winder, GA, The National Parkinson’s Foundation or The National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Smith Funeral Home Winder, GA is in charge of arrangements.
