Robert Lee "Bob" Norton, Jr.

Robert “Bob” Lee Norton, Jr., 75 of Winder, passed away Saturday, September 23, 2023. He was a native of Ohio. Bob was of the Christian faith and attended Free Chapel Church. He proudly served his country as a Navy Corpsman during the Vietnam War. Bob retired as an equipment operator in Fort Worth, TX. He was an avid golfer and was devoted to serving his community by being a member of the Lions Club, where he was a district governor, and volunteering with The Friends of Ft. Yargo State Park.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lee Norton, Sr and Wynn Norton; a daughter and a sister. He is survived by his loving wife of 17 years, Sheila Edwards of Winder; a son and daughter; two stepsons: Steven Bush of Jacksonville, FL and Rickey Bush (Janis) of Tifton; a stepdaughter, Deanna Shoemake (Ricky) of Winder; five grandchildren: Peyton Phelps, Brittany Bush, Hunter Bush, Megan Graham (Jake) and Mark Shoemake; and three great grandchildren: Avery, Bowen and Trey.

The family will receive friends Thursday September 28, 2023 from 5PM until 8PM at Smith Funeral Home, Winder, GA.
