Preston Joel "PJ" Moss

Preston Joel “PJ” Moss, age 15 of Statham, passed away on June 19, 2023. PJ had recently completed 9th grade at Winder-Barrow High School. He was quiet and loyal and he loved his friends and family and was proud of all of them. He was a sweet, kind soul who was also strong-willed, smart, and had a fighting spirit. Those who loved him considered him a “big ol’ teddy bear” who gave the best hugs. PJ enjoyed wrestling and was a fan of “Stone Cold” Steve Austin. He loved watching the Texas Longhorns and playing on his PlayStation.

PJ was preceded in death by his grandparents: Joel Moss, JoAnn Moss, William Murdock; step-grandparent, Jesse Luck; and uncle, Michael Montgomery.

PJ is survived by his parents, Amber Denise Murdock and Joel Keller Moss; and his brothers: Tyler Creed Moss and Noah Conner Moss. He is also survived by his grandparents: Angela and James Cantrell; aunts and uncles: Connie Montgomery, Donna Dunn, John Moss, William Murdock, Kristi Murdock, Shawn (Jessica) Murdock, Russ (Heather) Griffin, Corey Griffin and Amanda (Cody) Stinchcomb.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, June 22, 2023 at Smith Funeral Home from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. The funeral service will be in Smith Memory Chapel on Friday, June 23 at 11:00 am.
