Peter Reid, a retired police officer of Montville Township, New Jersey and Flagler County Sheriff's Office, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones. He dedicated his life to serving and protecting his community, leaving behind a legacy of integrity, kindness, and unwavering commitment. Peter was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Patricia, with whom he shared 41 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. He was a proud father to his five children Lauren, Dana, Aleta, Edward and Jennifer. He was a doting grandfather to his eight grandchildren.
Beyond his years in Law Enforcement, Peter was known for his generosity, quick wit, and the deep love he had for his family. He had a deep connection with nature, loved art, was an excellent builder, including masonry, and he enjoyed watching crime shows on tv. He was an avid collector of Law Enforcement patches and had been collecting since 1967. Peter was indeed a man of many talents. He was an excellent artist in his own right and painted many paintings over his lifetime. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, March 26, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Smith Funeral Home, 755 Atlanta Hwy SE, Winder, GA. Following the visitation will be a Memorial Service at 2:00 PM in Smith Memory Chapel. In lieu of flowers, Peter requested that donations be made in his memory to Tunnels to Towers or a local Law Enforcement Agency of your choice.
