Lora Mae Novak, age 76, passed away February 19, 2023. Lora was the daughter of the late Clayton Smith. She was married for 44 years to the late Edward Frank Novak. Lora was employed for over 30 years in the Gwinnett County School System as the Assistant School Nutrition Program Director. During this period, she returned to her studies and completed a Master of Science in Nutrition from the University of Georgia. She enjoyed volunteer work and companionship at Bethlehem United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her son, Marc Novak of Athens, GA; mother, Treva Smith; and brother Dennis Smith of Larned, KS.
Funeral services will be held Thursday February 23, 2023 at Bethlehem UMC at 2:00 pm. The burial will follow at Barrow Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at the church prior to the service on Thursday.
