OBITUARY
James Rodney "Rod" Akins
June 22, 1953 – March 27, 2022
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur James and Emma Nell Kellum Akins. Rod is survived by his loving wife of 33 Years, Vicky Willoughby Akins of Statham; his daughter, Brittany Cartmill (Spencer) of Statham; two brothers: Jeff Akins of Thailand and Marty Akins of Statham; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 29, 2022 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Smith Funeral Home, Winder, GA. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, March 30, 2022 in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home with Rev. Hal Tapp officiating. Interment will follow in Barrow Memorial Gardens.
Donations may be made in Rod’s name to University Cancer and Blood Center, Athens, GA.
