Frances Elizabeth Smith

Frances Elizabeth Smith, age 80, passed away Sunday, November 24, 2024. She was born August 24, 1944. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lavern Smith and Ed Smith. Frances is survived by her sister, Eva Smith Elder; brother, Ernest Smith (Marcia); nephews: Brandon Brooks (Ariel) and Scott Smith; nieces: Stephanie Tacto (Michael) and Stacie Conley (Travis); and a host of great nieces and nephews.

Frances was a lifetime resident of Barrow County and a 1962 graduate of Winder Barrow High School. She attended Dekalb College, studying business. She was a member of Christian Life Worship Center in Athens. Frances was a devoted Christian with a love for Jesus and her church. She taught Sunday School and Bible School and served as a Deaconess and church secretary. Frances enjoyed her work as office manager at Gas Inc. and Mr. B's. After retiring, she worked at H & R Block preparing taxes. Frances enjoyed traveling and had been to Germany, Switzerland, Virgin Islands, Canada, along with 38 of the United States, including Alaska. Frances treasured her playtime with her many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 1, 2024 at Smith Funeral Home from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. The Funeral Service will follow in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Kesling officiating.
