Eugene McConnell Foster

Eugene “Mac” McConnell Foster, age 82 of Auburn, GA, passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2022. He was born on February 5, 1940 in Gainesville, GA. Eugene served in the United States Army in war and peace. He attended college in Gainesville, GA and graduated from Truett McConnell in Cleveland, GA with a degree in finance. Eugene retired from a career in telecommunitcations. He was an avid golfer and, after retirement, worked for The Legends Golf Course. He was a beloved member of the Midway United Methodist Church in Auburn, GA.

Eugene is preceded in death by his parents, Cecil Eugene Foster and Charlsey Beatrice McConnell; his wife, Edda Schulz Foster; daughter, Charlsey Standridge; and his sister, Sarah Anderson.

Eugene is survived by his two sons, Tim Foster (Skeeter) of Jackson Gap, AL and Tom Foster (Alisha) of Watkinsville, GA; two brothers, John Anderson Foster of Gainesville, GA and Steve Foster (Shannon) of FL; twelve grandchildren: Michael Standridge, Dean Standridge, Emily Russell, Holly Foster, Joey Foster, Shannon Foster, Sharon Foster, Whitney Foster, Spencer Foster, Landon Foster, Brody Foster, and Blake Foster; and twelve great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday November 6, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Midway United Methodist Church in Auburn, GA. Flowers may be delivered to the Midway United Methodist Church in Auburn, GA.
