Donald Lee McKnight, born August 11, 1947, died on February 17, 2019 at the age of 72. He is preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Dahlia P. McKnight of Norcross and brother, Ronald McKnight. Don is survived by his daughter Amanda M. Baine, Alex Scott Bane, (their children) Elijah, Phoebe and Noa Grace, residents of Starkville, Mississippi. Don’s partner, Freda Wheeler, showed her love and care for Don continually.
Don graduated from Norcross High School in 1965 and served our country in the U.S. Army from 1967-1974 deployed to Vietnam and Germany. He played base guitar professionally most of his life, owed a music store and did studio sessions. Don’s gentle nature, spontaneous smile and generous spirit connected him to people. A celebration of remembrance for Don will be held at the 106 Music School, 106 West Athens ST, Winder, GA. Sunday May 19th from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Friends & Family welcome.
