David was a beloved husband, father and grandfather; loved and cherished by so very many.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Dawn Christian, daughters: Becky Christian Roxburgh (fiancé, John Minadeo), Debbie Christian Camp (husband, LaMonte Camp) and Shannon Davis-Dempsey (husband, Brandon Dempsey), sons: David Christian Jr. (wife, Carla Christian) and James Davis (wife, Lisa Davis), grandchildren: Katie Camp, Asia Christian, Christian Camp, Destiny Christian, Jake Williford, Jason Eberhart, Bryson Dempsey, Andrew and Aliana Davis, great-grandchildren: Aziah, Armani, Aiden, Amar’e, Cayden, Ava, Caylee and Destuani, brothers: Ed, Keith and Kevin Christian and sisters: Pearl Wheaton and Bonnie Brown and a much beloved cat, Smokey and many nieces, nephews and family.
He was preceded in death by his father, Frances Kenneth Christian, mother, Margaret Lowry Gill, step-father, Jack Gill, sister, Peggy Christian, brother Charles Christian and first wife, Katherine Richards Christian.
David was an all-star football player at Berkshire High School in Ohio and still holds the record for the school’s longest punt return (97 yards) for a touchdown. He had a love for motorcycles, engine rebuilds, old movies, Sheppard’s Chapel and UGA FOOTBALL!
The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, July 18 from 2-4 p.m., with a memorial service at 4 p.m. at Smith’s Memory Chapel: 755 Atlanta Highway, Winder GA 30680.
Flowers are welcome, but Dave had a passion for animals and donations to Leftover Pets (www.leftoverpets.org/donations.html) would make his heart and soul most happy.
